Zambia will host the first of the double headers. They have four points from two games. Zambia had a dream start to their campaign when they held Egypt to a 1-1 draw before beating Rwanda by 1-0. Algeria has been a revelation in the qualifiers. They were held to an expected 0-0 draw away to Rwanda. But they created a major upset when they hammered favorites Egypt 3-1 at home and now top the table with a superior goal difference as compared to Zambia. Zambia has a history of playing consistent but fruitless football. They still mourn the airplane crash carrying their entire team when they were one win away from qualifying for USA 1994.They have shown they have that African fighting spirit noticeably when they reached the final of CAF African cup of Nations in 1994. They would be looking to the new breed of generation from the under 20 team that took part in the World cup in Canada in 2007. Algeria announced them at the world stage when they shocked the eventual finalist West Germany by a margin of 2-1 and then beat Chile 3-2. They then had another appearance in 1986 but could secure only one point after being paired against height weights Brazil and Spain. But they showed enormous courage in both their World finals but have not made it to the finals since then. They have only one trophy to their name when they won CAF African cup of Nations in 1990.They are looking desperate to turn the time and make it to South Africa in next year's competition. Both the teams have some quality players who can turn games on their heads. Zambia has their captain Katongo, a Brondby based player and Sinkala, who plays for German second division. Mbesuma is another player who has been playing in Europe. Zambia will have other players to look forward to with the likes of Francis Kasonde, Rainford Kalaba and Felix Katonga having the talent to make it count. Algeria on the other hand are looking strong hand have themselves have the fire power and exuberance to tackle any opposition. The Fennecs the attacking arsenal in Rafik Djebour, Antar Yahia and Karim Ziani.
